We celebrated Diversity at Thornton by having an Assembly.  Each grade level performed either in song,a poem,  a play, or skit.  We are so proud of the students and the staff.  We are all special and unique!  
 
Snowball Fight


Mrs. Jones’ Kindergarten Class had a snowball fight today!  This is a great strategy to help the students learn their sight words.  Check them out!

 I am so proud of Ms. Jarvis’ students that had the opportunity to cut the
Scarf on Friday. These students have learned the following:

The Maestro Device in Action!


Cindy Manno, Speech Therapist at Thornton, is teaching Andi how to utilize the voice output device called the Maestro by Dynavox.  It is so amazing to watch Andi work on this device.  He is able to communicate with the other staff and students in the building.
Texas Roadhouse Night

We had a great turnout at Texas Roadhouse.  The PTO appreciates your participation in Thornton's Texas Roadhouse Night.  Thank you for coming out to support Thornton Elementary School!

Wrapping Around Our Words


            Wrapping Around the Words!
Mason Morrison, Ethan Pomainville, and Jasiah Rutherford were honored today with Mrs. Brown coming to their classroom for a Scarf cutting ceremony.  The students have learned their first set of words in First Grade.  They each were able to cut Mrs. Brown's Scarf and received a certificate for their hard work.  Way to go!
Character Award


Character Award was presented to Aylin Chacon this week.  The character trait of Honesty was seen in this student this week.  She discovered a twenty dollar bill and turned it into the teacher.  We are so blessed to have students' with such great character.  Way to go, Aylin!
East First Baptist


East First Baptist Church is sponsoring our school with backpacks and coats for the winter.  We are so happy to have them partnering with us.  Thank you so much for all you do!
Circle K from CVCC


The Circle K from CVCC collected and delivered supplies to us this week.  We are so lucky to have a partnership with them.  We appreciate all of their help.
Harley Helms


Harley Reynolds delivered supplies to Thornton Elementary School that she had purchased with her own money.  She explained that she wanted all children to have new things.  We are so proud of  Miss Harley Helms!
